One standard drink is equivalent to 1 can of beer or 120 mls of wine or 30 mls of spirits.
Conversion Table :
1) BEER or COOLER (~5% alcohol) : 12 oz. = 1 std drink
2) MALT LIQUOR (~7% alcohol) : 12 oz. = 1.5 std drink
3) TABLE WINE (~12% alcohol) : 750ml bottle / 25 oz. = 5 std drink
4) 80-proof SPIRITS (hard liquor) (~40% alcohol) : a mixed drink = 1 std drink or more* ; a pint (16 oz.) = 11 std drink
*Note: Depending on factors such as the type of spirits and the recipe, one mixed drink can contain from one to three or more standard drinks.
To enjoy alcohol without risking health, men should drink no more than four standard drinks each day, women should have no more than two standard drinks a day, and everyone should have at least two alcohol free days a week. Drinking regularly above these levels may contribute to high blood pressure (a risk factor for heart disease and stroke) and increase the risk of cancer, liver disease and brain damage. Because women's bodies are more sensitive to the harmful affects of alcohol, they need to drink less than men.
In Singapore, the legal limit of alcohol in the blood is 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood. In general, for a 60-70 kg person, about 1 ½ large bottle of beer (which is about 1000ml) consumed over half an hour can give rise to a blood alcohol concentration of 80mg of ethanol per 100ml of blood.
Drink responsibly
• Decide your drink limit before you start drinking.
• Limit yourself to not more than two standard drinks per day.
• Eat while you drink. Don't drink on an empty stomach.
• Sip one drink slowly over a long period of time. Don't gulp.
• Avoid drinking spirits neat. Mix them with soda water, ginger ale or fruit juices.
• Alternate your drinks with non-alcoholic ones.
• Don't drink if you are taking drugs, like antihistamines which are prescribed for flu.
• Never drive after drinking.
• If you plan to drink, don't drive
- Call a cab
- Catch a ride with a friend who hasn't been drinking
- Call home and have a sober family member come and get you
- Stay overnight
- Better still, ensure that the designated driver for your group agrees ahead of time, not to drink on that occasion, so that he can drive your group home safely when the party ends.

Let mi share w u my interesting exp at my fren's wedding..It was held at a Garden Terrace ballroom in Shangri La. It is an ulu part of the hotel. The best thg is that i saw squirrels on my way thr, and butterflies inside the ballroom. It is really quite different, nice gardens and all.
Was supposed to play Jason Mraz's I'm yours, but they changed it one day before to another song, Carole King's Anyone at all (a song from "You got mail"). I would say this songs is truely smthg special. Its melody is really nt impressionable and hard to grasp, and initially i was wondering why they chose a song saying u could have been w anyone at all. But after a while i finally understood the meaning.

Anw it turned out i was abit stressed abt playing. It was also interesting to be at a wedding dinner before the actual time, cos u can see ur fren, the groom underdressed, in t shirt and all,been briefed abt the proceedings. Anw my fren is a prof photographer. And his wedding shots and church wedding videos were the best i had seen so far. Sharp video and great editting, with good music to match it.
It was a small ballroom as my fren was msian. and the dishes were served individually. Guest's foto's were captured in polariod too and kept in a sketchbook w handwritten messages on them. Quite innovative.
I had but just a glass of red wine. But was also quite worn out from the anticipation of having to perform and all. Cos of several reasons. Think it must haf been the drink, cos i ended up playing abit slow at first, but changed tempo after the first verse. Think most ppl wouldnt haf detected, except ppl who knew music...haha..Funnie thg the next dae i was still quite tired..mayb a hangover..from one glass.
Anw i also met a jc fren whom I have nt tok to in 10 yrs. She has a regular tennis group at Tessarina Condo on sundays 5 to 7pm. So if anyone is interested can join us. I joined yesterday. Nice ppl, and their tennis standard is abt my level and above. 2 courts, we had 9 ppl yesterday. Really a swell time.
Haha..just like to add more. Cos i think i tot my wkend was quite interesting..
Anw I realised that gals look ravishing in blood red evening gowns, my fren's bride was in one. Think u got to be fair skinned too bah.
I also didn't know prior to the event that ppl who helped out, get angbaos. hm...So nxt time any of you need my services can call mi...:P

. It is a van actually, somethg like the Kangoo series. Just that it looks like a jeep as well. It has alot of leg room and is quite sporty and cool. Like a party vehicle. It was the first time i saw this van. Heard it cost abt 30k and runs on diesel. But u nid own a company to get one. Definitely one of my dream vehicles...=P

The car is slightly similar to a kangoo..but i can tell u the interior is really spacious. It is a really happening van..got back seats too..but a bit too spacious for mi..still at tat price..think it is a gd buy..

They serve zi char stuff, and are famous for the fish head curry. We had fried brinjal, prawn paste chicken, etc etc. The brinjal was divine..haha. Anw we had 13 ppl eating, so paid 10$ each in all, which was quite cheap. Went thr after tennis.
