okie... i have decided to post an new entry just for my rumbling and complains abt work related stuff... hahahaha... i have decided to go on strike today!! refuse to work!!
we have 3 promotions for the department and all from my team!! social work, cbd and chubby colleague... hahaha...
1. social work = disgusted lah; she's really incompetent... 2. cbd = ok lor; he's the division head's pet... 3. chubby colleague = happy for him; cos when he first comes in, i really feel that the bank has undercut him in terms of rank...
interesting times!! time to watch show now!! with cbd's promotion, i wonder how would other team leads who have worked much harder than him react... hahaha...
well, i am not really upset per se... just a bit buay song that incompetent ppl are being promoted. life is just unfair; period!
aniwae, cbd was pretty worried that i am unhappy/upset lah.... called me out for a tea session just now (lasted for 30min and over a cup of teh bing at amoy hawker)... asked me how i felt abt:
1. the bonus amt, 2. increments, 3. promotions of incompetent ppl, 4. his plans for me (apparently he wants to groom me to take over his position... i was thinking to myself: what else would you say right?? of course must say like that wat), 5. his takes on what i should be doing (i.e get out of back office and move on to do something else),
so i sort of informally informed him that i have intention to leave in first half of the year... even though i may not have found a job, etc etc... and he advised that i should not do that lah... should at least secured something before i go... hahaha... so we should see first bah...
now i must concentrate on the search for new jobs!!
hahahaha... errhhh, seriously no mood to work now!! okie, quick update on office gossip:
chubby colleague got his degree cert last year (note: not even relevant to banking), so when he first comes in as senior office, it's sort of a promotion liao (cos he's just a clerk at the previsou employment)...
then within half a year, he got promoted to AM!!! hahaha... ppl super buay song now lah... fast track never mind; his current level of competency does not match the title given to him...
hahahaha.. am still in office... exciting showdown just now...
my china colleague was complaining very bitterly to department head on how she feels that it’s super unfair to promote the social worker and chubby colleague so quickly...
cos the current AMs in the department took abt 2 years to earn the promotion.. then how come someone like chubby colleague who just comes for only half a year is promoted to AM so quickly, etc..
i really pity the poor department head lor... super difficult position to be in...
aniwae, to cut story short, basically the department can stop functioning soon... all the AMs (exlude the new promotees of course) are thinking of tendering... just a matter of time really.... hahaha
haha. u r not the only ones with complains. I have a boss who not my boss. Confused? Essentially, my Manager dosent really deal with me, but gets another senior to keep an eye on me. So while we are supposedly of the same rank, I have to sort of report to him, and has to take instructions from him. He can be quite pushy at times. bleh. stupid structure.

and i understand if you have second thoughts of coming to work here.. it's basically in total mess now!!!

ok, briefly share with you all on how the system here works:
1. supervisor makes recommendation as to which staff is to be promoted and the reason for promotion... e.g. bring in zillions dollars of savings for the bank, very outstanding level of work (note: def of o/s = you can walk on water), etc
2. department head determines whether recommendation is valid/ok and justifiable
3. department head puts up the nominated names for discussion at division level (we have a total of 4 departments)
4. all 4 department heads + division head have to agree to promote nominated staff
so.. the shocking news is that the other cbd was put up for promotion during the discussion at the division meeting...
dont know what happen... cbd somehow managed to get division head to agree to the promotion for social worker and chubby colleague!!! WITHOUT informing or discussing with the other 3 departments
hahaha.. so now EVERYONE (excluding the 3S.. hahaha.. new nick for the 3 promotees) is in shock lah... and super buay song mood....

and i should quote my colleague: the damages is done and you have to suffer the consequences.
feeling now: super sad, low morale, disillusion, dishearten, disappointed with current job...
hahaha.. why?? cos i kaypo with chubby colleague over lunchtime... sort of managed to find out his increment and bonus amt...
what i can say is this: why did i waste my past year working here? CURRENT pay (after working for additional WHOLE YEAR) almost equivalent to newly promoted AM's pay; TOTAL bonus amt is less than someone's PRORATED bonus amt... can faint, drop dead and die lah... I AM SPEECHLESS !!
haven't gotten a call from ur side...but will be gg down to stanchart for interview tom...programmer post.. reverting back to programmer/bank jobs at the mmt..

I am sure some of us have contacts in certain banks..so if u want to try certain banks..can just ask ard..IB or retail banks etc..
not sure..but i think sm of these roles require knowledge in basell II or some form of programming...or compliance...

Skipped breakfast, lunch and had dinner at 1 am for 2 days. Am I amazing? hahahaha... But I'll check for you once I clear all my work this week. :) Don't be upset abt the bonus thing, actually in my team all of us all got miserly bonuses n yet we can't complain. But yet I got 1 team member who has a few times more bonuses than me even though she's only here for half a yr. Haiz life is unfair.

Haiya my pay where got as good as auditors? The only motivation for sales ppl is to bia for their target, so there I am slogging away. I'm quite stressed as I'm gg off to BKK, and it is quarter end soon (dateline for target). A pity u can't join us in BKK, more ppl more fun.
division head had a talk (till 8pm lor, can faint) with the team which is most affected by this saga)... pointed finger at china colleague for doing the song and dance... (btw, it's not her lor)... china colleage stated that she only talked abt the saga within the department and not outside...
so... qn raised why promote chubby colleague so fast?
divison head said he's really really really good!! came in at the crisis time when no one knows how to work through the project and 'saved' the work... front office head was very impressed with him and wanted to 'snatch' him away... so of course must promote him to prevent that from happening...
rolled my eyes when i heard it lah... pls!! the main reason as to why we hired him in the first place is for him to work in THIS particular project lor... so you hire someone whom you know have some experience in this area of work, you put him in the project, you expect him to fail mah?? pls lor, you expect him to perform... and then to reward him for his so-called 'very well done work', you promoted him...
no brain right? i mean if he has NO experience whatsoever in this area and he did exceptionally well... then we have nothing to say... you hired him BECOS HE HAS RELEVANT EXPERIENCE!! he just did his job lor...
ppl are just dissatified that his level of competency has not reached the level that is reqiured for an AM... and management should have the BRAIN to see that in the FIRST place!! THAT'S ALL!!
and beside, divison head DOESNT SEE or even BELIEVE that she has done ANYTHING WRONG... and she REFUSED to hear from us... so we said dont need to waste breathe on her liao... NO USE!! it's a done deal!! she can close the chapter for now but the repercussions would surely be felt in the days to come...

hahahaha... today is quite a slack day for me!! and a super panicky day for bosses... hahaha.... cbd only realised in early afternoon that i would be on leave for the next few days... super panic mood lah!! quickly asked me to prepare updates, sent emails and whatnot... and i have to sit down with him to discuss what's the outstanding things...
i am ok to give him all these updates one... but the problem is.... i HAD already updated him last friday... he really the short term memory... hahaha...
now in switch off mood... was chatting with chubby colleague... he's asking advice from the office aunties on how to buy a diamond ring... cos he's going to propose to his gf... so sweet man!! hahaha...
today is my first day of work for the week!! hahahhaa... cos yesterday took mc... had slight sore throat (freaking hot weather in bkk plus lack of water during the day plus super cold air con and dry air in the hotel room at night) and neck/shoulder pain (from the go-cart accidents)... couldnt get out of bed yesterday's morning as it was super painful to move my body... hahaha...
so today is better lah... managed to climb out of bed withouh much pain... hahaha...
came into office slightly late... then boss looked at me and asked 'you should be very happy today!!'.. i gave him a question mark look.. then he informed me that i was made the team leader and my team member = chubby colleague (note: only ONE member)... hahaha.. i was like 'so what?? no big deal...' i am already coaching and reviewing his work wat... really lah, the change in org chart is for show one...
then he pull me aside for a 1.5hr chit chatting session on my career plan, future career path, blah blah blah... i just sat through, listened 'attentively' and pretended to agree with whatever he was saying... hahaha.. serious, i think i better quit really soon....
okie... enough of my rumbling... back to work now...
aniwae, i forgot to mention that there's a possibility that cbd would be 'transferred' out of our department to another newly set up team within the sector and doing risk related matters (his pet topics)...
so... he sort of asked if i am interested in that job... cos he intends to get someone whom he works before and is familiar with to go over... i just told him i would think abt it... hahaha..

we just received our bonus letter... and to everyone's digust, social worker is PROMOTED to AM!!!!!!!!!!!!
super unfair man!!! she only joined the bank for only a year only... and is promoted so quickly... sian man!! no reason to stay here liao...

hahahaha... today is quite a slack day for me!! and a super panicky day for bosses... hahaha.... cbd only realised in early afternoon that i would be on leave for the next few days... super panic mood lah!! quickly asked me to prepare updates, sent emails and whatnot... and i have to sit down with him to discuss what's the outstanding things...
i am ok to give him all these updates one... but the problem is.... i HAD already updated him last friday... he really the short term memory... hahaha...
now in switch off mood... was chatting with chubby colleague... he's asking advice from the office aunties on how to buy a diamond ring... cos he's going to propose to his gf... so sweet man!! hahaha...
today is my first day of work for the week!! hahahhaa... cos yesterday took mc... had slight sore throat (freaking hot weather in bkk plus lack of water during the day plus super cold air con and dry air in the hotel room at night) and neck/shoulder pain (from the go-cart accidents)... couldnt get out of bed yesterday's morning as it was super painful to move my body... hahaha...
so today is better lah... managed to climb out of bed withouh much pain... hahaha...
came into office slightly late... then boss looked at me and asked 'you should be very happy today!!'.. i gave him a question mark look.. then he informed me that i was made the team leader and my team member = chubby colleague (note: only ONE member)... hahaha.. i was like 'so what?? no big deal...' i am already coaching and reviewing his work wat... really lah, the change in org chart is for show one...
then he pull me aside for a 1.5hr chit chatting session on my career plan, future career path, blah blah blah... i just sat through, listened 'attentively' and pretended to agree with whatever he was saying... hahaha.. serious, i think i better quit really soon....
okie... enough of my rumbling... back to work now...
aniwae, i forgot to mention that there's a possibility that cbd would be 'transferred' out of our department to another newly set up team within the sector and doing risk related matters (his pet topics)...
so... he sort of asked if i am interested in that job... cos he intends to get someone whom he works before and is familiar with to go over... i just told him i would think abt it... hahaha..
