9 Words Women Use

You guys may have already read this before -- but nothing like immortalising it here rite? Since emi's been posting alot of guys' speak, it's time the women speak up!

9 WORDS WOMEN USE
1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm.. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with 'nothing' usually end in 'fine'.

4. Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It! .

5. Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of 'nothing'.)

6. That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. 'That's okay' means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome.

8. Whatever: Is a women's way of sayin F@!K YOU!

9. Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" and for the woman's response, refer to 'nothing' #3.

Just wondering..since you posted. Might as well ask...haha..

Though all the above stated does sound quite familiar to me. Whether or not one adheres to the habits depends on individual I guess, as some ppl do not exhibit such inclinations. What I am interested to know is that in ppl who do, is it more a result of innate nature, peer influence or social norm?...Haha..sounds like a GP question. But I am an engineer, so would like to better understand the cause...not that it will help me tide over such events..maybe..

Maybe someone should compile a book of viable solutions to the said issues for the simple minded guys out there...:P

hahaha.. i am gulity of saying some of the words here and with the intended meaning.. hahaha...

errhhh.. daniel, what are you asking huh?? dont get your question...

aniwae, my solutions when you encounter the respective word :

1. fine - just give in to her. no point arguing further cos you would never win...

2. 5 min - wait. it's only right that guy waits for gal, so no issue... hahaha

3. nothing - shut up, avoid the topic and move on to talk abt something else...

if she's really upset abt issue, it would surface again.. and this time round, you need to listen carefully and to give the answer that she wants...

if you get the correct answer, congrat!; if you dont, that's too bad... issue wont go away till you get the correct answer.. hahaha

4. go ahead - do not do anything. just keep quiet.

5. loud sigh - act cute or do/say something funnie to make her smiles/laughs... once she smiles/laughs, storm is over...

6. that's okay - actually i thought the word really means it is okay lei... so just agree and smile.

7. thanks - smile

8. whatever - end of topic. move on pls.

9. Don't worry about it, I got it - i also thought the meaning is dont worry... so agree and smile.

hahaha.. can i hear from other gals too?? what's your take??

Hm...just asking where these mannerisms are adopted/developed from. the origins. WHY lor?

Anw i disagree with smiling and keeping quiet being the solution sometimes. From experience, it may make the matter worse and give an incorrect impression of an act of non-chalence. sigh.

Man.. Can women juz say what they mean. Its as though there i

Man.. Can women juz say what they mean. Its as though there is some circular referencing going on in the woman code, when one phrase is refered to another in a never ending loop.

I think if you & another person really are an item...a lot of thingz are known & unspoken.Words are quite extra. As they know each other too well.
Tis kind of guessing game...is just needed @ initial stage bah

In theory it should be true as anson mentioned that the guessing game should cease after maybe a few years. But I really wonder in disbelief..=P

My opinion on wat men shld do on encountering these words:

1. Fine: Just stop arguing. It's already a give-in by the gal meaning she couldn't care less whether you're right or she's right, but most probably you're right since she's giving up.

2. Five Minutes: Totally agree with post. Women tend to drag, guys shld try to understand that it takes longer than estimated to mascarify our eyelashes from 0.5cm to 1.5cm long. :p

3. Nothing: Never treat it as really "nothing" happened, if you shrug and walk off that's the end of you.

4. Go Ahead: Depends on tone. If uttered in a slightly shrill tone, she means: "Go ahead and you'll see the end of no tomorrow."

5. Loud Sigh: Means she's tired of explaining such a simple thing to a toot head like you.

6. That's Okay: Like loveflower, that sounds ok to me as well?

7. Thanks: Sounds like a sarcastic remark. I'm a pessimist.

8. Whatever: See point number 1.

9. Don't worry about it, I got it: IMO it just means "I can handle it, don't bother about me." Sounds harmless.

From la!uep's comment: "...What I am interested to know is that in ppl who do, is it more a result of innate nature, peer influence or social norm?...Haha..sounds like a GP question. But I am an engineer, so would like to better understand the cause..."

What?! U're examining us women like rats in a lab? :p

wat rats??..shrugs..i just dun understand y gals have to do things in such manner...a simple qn?...guess there is no ans bah...haha...ponders..

i guess no one will deny using words in the above mentioned manner. faint. The situation must be worse than I tot..haha..tot it was only an isolated case...

u mean u can extend lashes by 1cm?...realli ar..:P

ello! i am also 'guilty' of this behaviour.

however daniel, don't deal with this like an engineering fault, must find out prob, come up with solution, preventive maintenance... and 'The situation must be worse than I tot..haha..tot it was only an isolated case...' takes the cake. u are making it sound like some airborne disease.

like wat all the gals are saying, when together for some time, even silence/glance/a flick of hand movement and u'll know the mood she is in. and if she meant wat she said.

unless of cos, u are some don juan who has studied the ways of women for ages.

as for the source, it is of cos part innate part external influences. we do not want to be so obvious and demanding (as that will be turn off to men) so we try other ways like that. haha. but as in my entry bout men, they dun get hints. must tell them directly. haha.

we are always learning ya? that's one of the interesting parts of relationships mah. we dun wan a mind reader nor a piece of wood. go figure.

i nv referred it as a disease..:p
..just tat i have some impression that not every gal handle things in the same manner. Some gals I know seem to be quite direct, holds no hidden agenda, and easy to hold a conversation with. But then again, I wouldn't know, cos most gals probably wun nid to do things in such ways towards normal guy frens.

As a guy I understand how some male habits arise from. To agree or accept is a seperate matter. On the other hand, I do not understand where habits of gals arise from. So I am just doing my part to understand better...my comments are abit exaggerated..prob..:P
